5.25″ Rich Purple Amethyst Root from Brazil – Singer! – 7.6 oz

From Bahia, Brazil. This piece weighs 7.6 oz and measures 5.25 x 1.5 x 0.75″

This beautiful Amethyst root features rich coloring, and slight transparency when held to the light. This piece is also a “singer”; when tapped on the end, it resonates and produces a soft chime – a phenomenon seen in some Amethyst roots and occasionally in clear and smoky quartz points. Pieces such as this are also known as “Dragons Teeth”, and are my very favorite crystal formation.

Amethyst is the birthstone of February and is historically connected with royalty. It is believed to be a stone of serenity and spirituality and is associated with the third eye and crown chakras.

Amethyst from the Bahia, Brazil mine is becoming harder to find as this mine is no longer in production. Each point grows as an independent piece within a group. When they are separated you can see the key (imprint) markings along the sides where other points influenced the growth of the crystal.
