This Labradorite freeform features displays of blue flash edged with bright yellow, and a patch of purple/sunrise flash in one corner. Labradorite is a Feldspar mineral also known as “fire stone”. It contains a spectacular iridescent light refraction called “labradorescence”. Revered by Ancient Inuits, it was believed to contain the frozen fire of the northern lights. In 1770, it was named “Labradorite” when Moravian missionaries discovered it on the Labradorite peninsula of Canada. It has since been discovered in other locales around the world.
