4″ Purple Flash Labradorite Freeform | Spectrolite

This flashy freeform features the most sought after color in Labradorite – purple. The entire face of this piece lights up with a distinct lavender flash, laced with a slight orange hue. Labradorite is a Feldspar mineral also known as “fire stone”. It contains a spectacular iridescent light refraction called “labradorescence”. Revered by Ancient Inuits, it was believed to contain the frozen fire of the northern lights. In 1770, it was named “Labradorite” when Moravian missionaries discovered it on the Labradorite peninsula of Canada. Measures 4″ and weighs 15.5 oz. from Madagascar.
