4.25″ Large Danburite Cluster from Caracas, Mexico

$119.00

This piece features clusters of large points sprouting from a base of needle-like micro-points. With optical effects similar to calcite, it glitters in the light at every turn. A cabinet-size specimen, this cluster measures 4.25″ at its largest dimension and weighs 11.9 oz.
Danburite is a transparent to translucent gem with prismatic chisel-tipped terminations. It ranges in color from clear, yellow and pink to brown. Similar to quartz, it has a hardness of 7-7.5 on the Mohs scale. However, it surpasses quartz on the refractive index, rivaling even topaz in brilliance. Danburite was first discovered in 1839 by Charles Upham Shepherd, a renowned American mineralogist. His original-discovered deposit is now buried under the city of Danbury, Connecticut. However, significant deposits have since been found in NY, Mexico, Japan, Burma, Switzerland, Madagascar and elsewhere. Most of the danburite in today’s commercial market is from Mexico, such as this cluster.

Danburite is an angelic mineral with an ethereal brilliance and refraction. Its powerful energetic presence is believed to connect one to their higher conscience, resonating with the third eye, crown and soul star chakras. It is a soothing stone of peace and light and is believed to be helpful for meditation, dreamwork, emotional release and spiritual work.
