This Labradorite freeform features displays of turquoise-blue flash, with one exceptionally prominent patch, and others twinkling from within the dark matrix like stars in the sky. Labradorite is a Feldspar mineral also known as “fire stone”. It contains a spectacular iridescent light refraction called “labradorescence”. Revered by Ancient Inuits, it was believed to contain the frozen fire of the northern lights. In 1770, it was named “Labradorite” when Moravian missionaries discovered it on the Labradorite peninsula of Canada. It has since been discovered in other locales around the world.
