This piece features a lovely fibrous crystallization pattern, in a rolling botryoidal-like form. Blue Aragonite is often mislabeled as Caribbean Calcite. While they both grow from the mineral calcium carbonate, they grow in slightly different conditions. This alters both the coloring and form a bit. Seen here, Blue Aragonite is a deeper, more vivid blue with a more fibrous crystallization habit.
