This piece weighs 5 oz and measures 3.25″ at its largest dimension. From Mozambique.
This lovely Elestial Quartz crystal has grown from Clear Quartz, which is quite rare for an Elestial; typically they are smoky or Amethyst. While I have typically sourced this material from Brazil, this is an African piece from Mozambique where the flat growth habit is considered tabular. This formation is quite difficult to find within Africa – locally, it is considered a rarity!
Elestial Quartz is the name given to quartz with natural terminations all over the faces and body. These crystals feature unusual and irregular growth habits, including tightly grouped and/or overlapping clusters, extrusions, inclusions and curious etchings. Most are smoky, although there are a few (rare) clear and citrine varieties found. Elestials are highly collectible and can be used extensively in crystal healing. They often display a combination of various characteristics, including tightly grouped and/or overlapping clusters, extrusions, inclusions and curious etchings. Elestial quartz is also known as jacare, skeletal, or fenster quartz.
