This piece measures 2.5 x 1.5 x 1″ and weighs 1.8 Oz. Made from Labradorite, mined and polished in Madagascar.
This flashy half-polished Labradorite slab showcases a stunning display of blue-gold flash, which lights up half the face of this polished piece. The other half twinkles with smaller blue sections. The back is raw/rough cut and has lovely flashy sections when held at the correct angle. This combination of raw and polished Labradorite is one of my favorites – it allows one to appreciate the perfection of the polished stone, while also enjoying the beauty of the natural stone. Labradorite is a Feldspar mineral also known as “fire stone”. It contains a spectacular iridescent light refraction called “labradorescence”. Revered by the Ancient Inuits, it was believed to contain the frozen fire of the northern lights. In 1770, it was named “Labradorite” when Moravian missionaries discovered it on the Labradorite peninsula of Canada.
Labradorite resonates with the third eye and crown chakras, and is said to be deeply connected with wisdom and intuition. Said to be a stone of transformation and insight.
