This piece weighs 3.6 oz and measures 2.5″ at its largest dimension. From Mozambique.
This lovely Elestial Quartz crystal features beautiful smoky-citrine coloring, layered over clear quartz, and very interesting inclusions of hematite and black rutile. The flat growth habit is considered tabular. While I have typically sourced this material from Brazil, this piece is from Mozambique. This formation is quite difficult to find within Africa – locally, it is considered a rarity!
Elestial Quartz is the name given to quartz with natural terminations all over the faces and body. These crystals feature unusual and irregular growth habits, including tightly grouped and/or overlapping clusters, extrusions, inclusions and curious etchings. Most are smoky, although there are a few (rare) clear and citrine varieties found. Elestials are highly collectible and can be used extensively in crystal healing. They often display a combination of various characteristics, including tightly grouped and/or overlapping clusters, extrusions, inclusions and curious etchings. Elestial quartz is also known as jacare, skeletal, or fenster quartz.
