1.5″ Lovely Orange River Quartz Cluster on Matrix from South Africa 1.7oz

This cluster measures 1.5 x 1.25 x 1.25″ and weighs 1.7 oz. Mined from the Orange River region in the Northern Cape of South Africa.

This vibrant Orange River Quartz cluster features a bright red-orange coloring, due to the presence of densely included hematite. Many of the points contain phantoms. Petite points sprout all over the face of this cluster, backed by the matrix the crystals formed upon. This lovely piece is stunning with it’s vibrant color and sparkly crystals.

The Orange River is the longest river in South Africa, and is a geologic treasure trove, producing a wonderful variety of stunning crystals. However, not all areas are accessible to miners, and crystals from the region can be hard to come by. Hematite quartz clusters typically exhibit a deep brick-red coloring, unsurpassed by any other location in the world.
