2.5″ Fossil Spinosaurus Tooth | No Repairs | Real Dinosaur Tooth 0.7 Oz

$59.00

This is a medium-large size tooth from the extinct Spinosaurus. It is in excellent condition with good enamel, and no evidence of repairs, however it does have one small chip at the tip. Spinosaurus teeth are relatively common fossils, as the Spinosaur would shed its teeth multiple times throughout its lifetime. Large (3+ inches), well-preserved examples are rare.

Spinosaurus is one of the most spectacular and dangerous creatures that ever stalked the Earth. Evidence suggests it was semi-aquatic; it was a fearsome predator on both the land and waters. It belonged to a genus of theropod dinosaur, and lived in what is now North Africa during the Cretaceous period. The original fossil discovery of Spinosaurus (aka S. Aegyptiacus) was found in Egypt, but was destroyed in WWII. More recently, relatively abundant Spinosaurus fossils have been found in the Kem Kem Beds of Morocco, and it is believed multiple species of this dinosaur existed.
